Sais tomatoes harvest has “kicked off” in East Sicily

The harvest of Sais tomatoes is starting from 15-20 days with cluster tomato Syrio F1 and elongated tomato Torrano F1.

Both varieties, transplanted from half of September, have early cycle and they have shown a good tolerance to the bad weather conditions of the last months. .

SYRIO F1 has strong plant with high yielding. The fruit goes quickly to ripening with a deep red colour and excellent flesh firmness. The intermediate resistance of TYLCV allows a flexibility in the transplanting period.

TORRANO F1 stands out for the quality of the fruits that also in Sicily in “counterseason” has aroused interest from producers and traders thanks to the colour, which turns from a medium dark green to a brilliant deep red maintaining excellent firmness of the pulp and the uniformity of size and shape.
The plant has a good yield and fruit set.
