111SA601 F1: THE BEST CHOICE FOR BUNCHING ONION

Sweetness of red onion “di Tropea” is already known outside Italy, where the peculiar taste conquers the palate of the consumer.
In order to increase the yield and the quality of harvest as bunching onions, the R&D dept. of Sais has obtained the hybrid 111SA601 F1.

The variety stands out from the average for the thickness of leaves and the uniformity of the bulb when the ripening stage is not yet completed. The leaves do not fold, it allowes to improve the quality of bunching harvest.
The variety is a short day one, with medium cycle. The plant is vigorous with upright and thick leaves. The bulb is round, slightly elongated, with bright red tunics.
The white flesh is meaty and particularly sweet.
The variety is suited to be cultivated all year long for bunching harvest and in autumn for summer harvest as ripen bulb.
