APSA CONGRESS NOVEMBER 20 – 24, 2023, CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND

The APSA Congress 2023 saw a large participation of Chinese, Indian and Pakistan companies involved in breeding, producing and trading vegetable seeds, but also seed companies from the Western area.
The tone of international meetings was generally high, confirming the positive period for the seed industry in that area after the pandemic.
In these countries, both the high demographic development and the huge demand for vegetable seeds attract seed companies from all over the world.
Sais has been producing seeds for Asian seed companies for many years and has recently reinforced its network in the Asian Pacific area by supplying well-organised distributors in Australia and New Zealand for cherry tomatoes and eggplants, as well as basils, rockets and parsleys.
Furthermore, sales of op and hybrid short day red onions and carrots are increasing year by year in Pakistan and India.
On the one hand, the high request of leaf crops is suitable for artificial growing conditions in India, where vertical farming is particularly developed.
On the other hand, there has been the introduction of Sais cherry – grape tomatoes and sweet peppers in China.
The APSA Congress was also a good opportunity to meet our big distributors located in Iran and in the Middle East.
