ABOUT US “ PARTNERING FOR SUCCESS : TWO DECADES OF GROWTH IN THE SYRIAN MARKET “
In a recent meeting with Ing. Maged Al Galli, owner of ECAS and SAIS exclusive distributor in Syria and his son Ing. Bashar Al Talli , we reflected on a partnership that has spanned more than twenty years.
“ For decades, Sais seeds have served as a benchmark for quality, reliability, and innovation for distributors and farmers throughout Syria.
Before the revolution, Sais hybrid indeterminate greenhouse tomatoes were a staple in the coastal area of Tartous, Jableh, Baniyas and Latakia, grown mainly for export to East European Countries and Russia .
Mannal F1 pepper , Surprise F1 and Au Producer watermelons, became well-established in the open fields of the Daraa Region for local consumption and export to the Gulf area.
Several Sais op varieties have remained from decades market references in Syria also during the period of revolution: Sais beet Detroit , Turnip White Round Purple Top, Radish Siculo, Utrillo Pea, Onion Red Amposta , etc. .
While the market experienced a period of decline during the decade of revolution, we are encouraged by a recent recovery characterized by current commercial dynamics and new opportunities for growth.
The National Committee for Import and Export in Syria has enacted a decision to limit the import of specific agricultural products through 2026. This measure is intended to prioritize domestic production by coordinating import bans with the local harvest seasons; thus should result in a rise in the demand for high quality seeds “ .
