LAST EVENTS: SAIS TOMATO FIELD DAY IN VITTORIA – SICILY – ITALY
On January 8th, 2026, a Sais Tomato Field Day was successfully held in Vittoria.
The event was attended by distributors from the Mediterranean area interested in winter-cycle tomato crops.
Dr. Franca Castagnoli, Head of the SAIS Research Center, and Dr. Giovanni Migliorisi, Sicily Area Manager, presented new pre-commercial and commercial varieties of cherry, grape, cluster and marmande tomatoes.
The following varieties particularly stood out:
- cherry 121SA813 F1 for its high productivity, intense color, firmness, long shelf life, and plant health.
- Datterino Confit F1 for its yield, uniformity, and flavor;
- New pre-commercial varieties of orange grape tomatoes with high flavor.
- new pre-commercial varieties of cluster tomato with ToBRFV resistance;
