Eggplant: quality and tradition

As long type, most important varieties are Teti F1 and the new one 110SA103 F1, both have vigorous plant with high yielding, suited for greenhouse and open field cultivation.
Teti F1 has long fruit, clavated with bright black colour. The flesh is white with few seeds. The calyx is green without spines.
110SA103 F1 is new variety under registration to European Plant Variety Catalogue of vegetable species. It has elongated fruit, 20-25 cm long, bright black in colour. Calyx without spines.

The S.A.I.S. varieties with oval fruit are Myrna F1 and Samba F1.
Myrna F1 has medium vigorous plant, with good leaf coverage, suitable for greenhouse and open field cultivation. Oval fruit is very attractive with bright black and green calyx. The flesh is white, very good in taste and firmness.
Samba F1 is very strong variety, suitable for open field cultivation also for processing market.
The fruit is oval, with medium big size and black colour. White flesh.

Thanks to italian tradition S.A.I.S. proposes, as round type, the Niobe F1 variety with purple fruit, very bright and very attractive, white undercalyx and dark violet calyx.
In order to enhance the brightness of purple colour, it’s suggested a distance of 55- 60 cm along the row .
