Sais basil: the basil

Sais, leader company on the italian market of basil, has always committed in the research to obtain new varieties to fulfill the growers needs.
The target of Sais research is to guarantee the unique quality of “genovese” type basil all year round and for different market segments.
The result is a wide choice of varieties dedicated for both pot and cutting production .

For the cutting segment Sais proposals are Superbo and Gecom; both varieties were selected by isolating plants rich of essential oils.
Superbo has a medium-compact plant, very productive, with large and spoon shaped leaves, and dark green color.
Gecom has a more compact plant, thanks to medium-short internodes, good for cutting and pot cultivation.
Concerning pot production, Sais obtained two varieties, Gemma and Geniale, alongside to Gecom.
Gemma has a compact plant, with large and spoon shaped leaves, bright and dark green color, suitable for pot cultivation all year round, except for the coldest months, while Geniale is an extremely compact variety suited for pot cultivation in the warm period.
All Sais varieties are also available with FT seeds, seeds officially tested and found free from Fusarium oxysporum and Dodder (Cuscuta).
