Sais increases its catalogue with new varieties of fresh tomato, eggplant and sweet pepper, that could represent suitable answer to different agronomic and commercial conditions, with the goal of offering a larger choice to producers.
The new varieties of fresh tomato are four:
- OWALYTO F1 (ex 114SA904), plum tomato, 50-70g. The plant is vigorous, suitable for all transplanting periods, with excellent fruit-setting and good yield even at the top. The cluster is regular , with 6-8 fruits. The fruit is uniform and elegant, with beautiful bright red colour. Good shelf-life. (HR:ToMV:0-2/Fol:0/Va:0/Vd:0 IR:TYLCV/Ma/Mi/Mj).
- MYGLIORITO F1 (ex 113SA865), cherry tomato, suitable for south Mediterranean transplanting in “counterseason”. Vigorous plant, very regular and long cluster. Medium sized fruit, with bright red colour and excellent shelf-life, L.S.L. (HR:ToMV:0-2/Fol:0,1/Va:0/Vd:0 IR:TYLCV/Ma/Mi/Mj).
- MARYPOSA F1 (ex 114SA403), ribbed fruit variety, suited for south Mediterranean transplanting in “counterseason”, winter and spring-summer transplanting in temperate area. Vigorous plant with high yield. Ribbed and flat fruit, with dark bright green and marked green shoulder. Colour, brightness and size do not change even in sweet water conditions (HR:ToMV:0-2/Fol:0/Va:0/Vd:0 IR:TSVW/TYLCV).
- WELCOME F1 (ex 112SA872), bush tomato with cherry fruit. Vigorous plant with good covering. Medium-small fruit, very bright red, good firmness and shelf life (HR:ToMV:0-2/Ff:A-E/Fol:0 IR:TSWV/TYLCV).
Concerning eggplant, Sais proposes the new variety 114SA312 F1, with vigorous plant suitable for greenhouse and open field cultivation. The fruit is oval, big sized, with very black and bright colour even in summer transplanting.
The new pepper variety, 112SA306 F1, is “Bull’s horn” type. The plant is vigorous, very fertile with high yielding even at the top. The fruit is long 220-250 mm, with bright and dark green colour, deep red at ripening. Variety suited for greenhouse and open field cultivation thanks to intermediate resistance to TSWV (HR:Tm:0-2 IR:TSWV).
