Spring: the beginning of flowering

Every year agriculture has its own history and is created by the combination of environment, climate, farmers and market demands.

The nuances of these variables are infinite and every slight change in each of them causes changes in the agricultural panorama that in the spring period manifests itself with the first coloured blooms to which spring has opened its doors.

To open the dance of the pollinators insects we have cruciferous plants such as cabbages, turnips, and rocket that, often with large surfaces, dominate plains and hills with yellow colors more or less intense and white.

The first spring blooms are typically favorited by the water stock present in the soil accumulated during the winter and warm climates during the day – fresh at night, which enhance the vigor of the plant and consequently the vitality of the flower and pollen and at the end the fruit set.

The calendar does not matter to the plant, it is the vernalization, hours of light, temperatures and stress (not always seen as negative aspects) that harden the setting of the seed and flowering. For this reason, the choice to use our entire Italian region to reproduce our varieties: to have the possibility of early sowing and different harvesting time.

Second to the crucifers we have the Alliaceae and the peas that with very bright flowers the firsts and  closed flowers the seconds accompany the spring season towards the temperature increases.

By collaborating with pollinators and managing cultivation practices according to the season that presents itself, we try to bring healthy vigorous plants at the time of flowering. Accomplices with the weather, pollinating insects play a crucial role in the fecundation of hybrid crops and therefore we pay particular attention to respecting them.

Good bloom to all spectators!
