NEW RED SHORT DAY ONIONS F1 TRIALS IN PAKISTAN

In the wake of the success of the Tropea – Record red onion in Northern Pakistan, the new F1 pink onions were tested, still under the EM01 and EM04 codes.

Objective: to complement the Tropea Record variety with new high-performance hybrid varieties range with a more intense pink colour.

The new varieties which are still being tested, have been appreciated by growers and traders for their earliness, uniformity and size.

EM01 variety appears to be of a more pinkish color and its aimed for who are looking for onions of this shade of color;

EM04 variety appears to be a vigorous plant of a more purplish shade
