2024 SAIS HIGHLIGHTS : INNOVATION, RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND GROWTH

As we come to the end of 2024 , we thank our clients for contributing to a positive result and share below the main points that characterized this year .

During 2024, we have introduced innovative varieties , fruit of years of research and development.

We mention  among all the determined tomato 120SA652 F1, of “ datterino” type , which makes it possible to obtain fruit with high brix and elegant presentation while reducing the use of labor , suited to European consumer tastes.

In the range of indeterminate tomatoes, we have introduced the colorful 121SA981 F1, with bulb shape and yellow color, and the oval round cherry 121SA962 with blue hues, as a response to the continuous search for specialty and differentiating products.

We have also introduced to the Sais tomatoes range the Datterino Confit F1   (formerly 119SA956 ) of the mini San Marzano type , the Marzanillo F1 , high-yielding San Marzano type, the 120SA701, in the “ Andes Horn” type , the 116SA312 F1 in the “classical Oxheart” range with red color when ripening, and the 120SA352 F1 in the “ oxheart” type with pink color when ripening. All these varieties have highly flavorful features enhancing regional types

New hot pepper varieties have been included in our catalogue,suitable for pot production or for bunching, a market that continues to expand.

2024 was the year of the establishment at markets on all continents of basil Gentile, which combines the aroma of true Genovese type with high production and resistance to Downey Mildew.

Staying with the theme of innovation, the company made investments during 2024 in sophisticated machinery for seed production, processing and packaging.

The digitization process continued through the implementation of the warehouse computerization and other technological solutions aimed at improving production efficiency and customer service.

Sustainability continues to be a key focus of our enterprise, having intensified our commitment to apply agricultural practices in production processes that respect the environment. Our research activity has the main objective of establishing vegetable varieties that require less use of pesticides and, where possible, less water requirements to meet the demands of the global market.

The recent hiring of qualified human resources in the company’s strategic areas and staff training are completing the innovation project at SAIS .

The year 2024 coincided with consolidation in pre-existing markets through the acquisition of market share thanks to the establishment of our varieties together with the efficiency of our distributors.

We also undertook new collaborations with top distributors in Lebanon for hybrid seeds, in Mid ASIA countries and Central America .

During the current year we have begun new projects like “Aromatic herbs ‘ in Kenya and Ethiopia and ’ Vertical Farming ” in Europe , UAE and Singapore.

We have become a partner of choice for quality seed for those countries, previously dependent on importing vegetables from neighboring countries, where policies and structural investments are being made for the local production of vegetables.

The logo “ we speak seeds ‘ that we have started using in our corporate communication at the beginning of 2024, represents SAIS’ attitude to speak about seeds in a round perspective and to listen to customers’ needs .
